If you’d prefer even more efficiency, you can opt for the available Sport Hybrid configuration. It comes with a 3.0L V6 engine and a powerful lithium-ion battery. They work with a motor-integrated 7-Speed DCT (Dual Clutch Transmission) to achieve an EPA-estimated 26 city/27 highway MPG.1
You can choose between the standard front-wheel drive or opt for the enhanced traction and control of the Super Handling All-Wheel Drive™ (SH-AWD®). This available system will help you tow heavier loads. It can make it even easier to transport your load to its destination in slippery conditions!
Now that you know the source of this SUV’s power, it’s time to discuss how much you’ll be able to haul. When equipped with front-wheel drive, the Acura MDX can tow up to 3,500 pounds. If you choose the available Super Handling All-Wheel Drive™, the towing capacity increases to 5,000 pounds when properly equipped.
It’s also important to note that towing is not recommended with the available sport-hybrid configuration.
For all your cargo that doesn’t require a trailer, the Acura MDX has 15.8 cubic feet of space to fill up behind the third-row seats. Additionally, simply lowering both the second and third rows will provide 90.9 cubic feet of storage.
